(Summary description)On 16th May 2023, OKTECH successfully completed delivery of the 3rd batch of lighting materials for Pulau Indah Power Plant (hereinafter referred to as PIPP) project undertaken by POSCO E&C.



PIPP is a 1,200MW power plant in Pulau Indah, Selangor, Malaysia. It’s a natural gas powered Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) with an efficiency of more than 60%, much higher than its coal or oil equivalent. Costing an estimated RM3.35 billion to build, PIPP will go through 5 phases of construction namely design, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and testing before commencing its commercial operation on January 1st, 2024. Once completed, it will be connected to the National Grid to support the increasing power demand in the Klang Valley, which accounts for 43% of total electricity demand in Peninsular Malaysia.
